Life Is Too Short To Wear Boring Clothes

That’s right… life is too short to stress out about a lot of things, and worrying what people will think about your cute outfit is one of them!

I’ve learned a lot from the last few months of self quarantine. I might do a post covering some of those things specifically, but for today, I want to talk about one.

After weeks and weeks of wearing loungewear and workout clothes EVERY. SINGLE. DAY … I realized how much I love fashion and putting together outfits. And that has led me to make a decision …

From now on, I’m not going to stress out about what people think of my outfits. If I love a piece of clothing, and it makes me feel confident, I’m going to wear it.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m not going to start dressing inappropriately or trashy or anything! But too often I hear friends and people on social media say, “I wish I had the confidence to wear an outfit like that!” or “I just couldn’t pull that skirt off!”

We all struggle to feel confident about our appearance from time to time. I’m a style blogger, so you see the photos online of me looking confident and posed in my outfits. But what you don’t see is the three other outfits I tried on before the shoot, the outtakes, or the people driving by staring at me while we shoot my blog/Instagram photos. (One of my worst fears is that someone who knows me in person, who doesn’t know I have a blog, will drive by while I’m sitting on a railing in the middle of a busy sidewalk, shooting photos, and wonder what the heck I’m doing…)

But honestly, I believe the most attractive thing a person can wear is confidence and a smile. Your outfit can be super cute, but if you appear insecure or unsure about it, that defeats the purpose! In the same way, you can wear jeans, sneakers, and your boyfriend’s t-shirt and totally rock it with confidence and a smile.

So wear the leopard print top. Wear the yellow floral skirt. Wear the white maxi dress. Wear the overalls, the distressed shorts, the red shoes, the bright pink ballcap. Wear what makes you feel happy, confident, and like you.

Because life if too short for boring clothes.

Love,

Gabriella
