Laying down MY plan for my life

I’m a planner. I always have been.

I had my life planned out. Well, I at least had the next few years of my life planned out. And then I read this . . .

Proverbs 16:9 – A man plans his path, but the Lord determines his steps.

And this . . .

Proverbs 19:21 – You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose prevails.

So yeah . . . never mind.

I feel very uneasy when I feel I don’t have control. So giving up my circumstances, my relationships, and my life is definitely a struggle of mine. But the comforting part is, I’m not giving them up to just anyone. I’m giving them to GOD. And truthfully, my life is much better off in His hands than in mine. His plans are far greater than mine.

Before starting a new project – a new book, this blog, ect. – I always pray for the same thing: that the project would not just bless ME, but that it would bring God glory and help bring OTHERS closer to Him. I once asked God that if writing books isn’t His plan for my life, that He would please put some sort of obstacle in front of me. So far, there haven’t been many big obstacles, and I seriously hope that remains the case! But I’ve been trying to prepare myself for the fact that someday, God may reveal that He no longer wants me to continue writing, and I need to be ok with that. Because no matter how impossible it seems, I know He would have something much better planned for me.

I want to leave you with this verse. I have made this verse kind of the foundation of all my writing projects and it’s seriously such a good reminder.

Proverbs 16:3 – Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.

Hope you’re all having a great week! My new notebook is from Michael’s 🙂

Love,

Gabriella
