An Outfit for Spring

Good morning, guys!

Well, spring is definitely here – finally! I have been looking forward to this spring/summer ALL winter. I’m so glad to be retiring my chunky sweaters (apparently oversized sweaters and athletic leggings are, “all you wear in the winter, Gab.”) and getting out my flowy, floral tops.

This week I’ve been pondering what we do when we receive a compliment. I for one don’t really do much with a compliment other than say, “Thank you,” and maybe, “You’re too sweet.” So I began thinking, what if we counted the compliments we receive? What if we wrote them down and thought about them throughout the week? And so I decided to do just that.

I wrote down every kind thing people said to me during the week, and by the end of the week I looked over the list. First of all, let me say that I’m not receiving these compliments because I’m great but because the people around me are very, very kind people. But once I wrote down these compliments and took the time to appreciate them I realized how hard we can be on ourselves. I’m all about pushing myself to be the best version of me, even if that means getting out of my comfort zone, but we all need someone to say, “You’re doing good,” every now and then. We need someone to remind us of how far we’ve come, how much of a difference we make in the world, how beautiful we are, and how loved we are by others. And I think that a lot of the time, even though people are telling us these things, we’re just not considering that there’s any truth in these compliments.

But what would happen if we all took the time to dwell on the compliments we receive?

Okay, now onto this outfit!! Apparently lavender is the color of the season, and I’m seeing it everywhere! It’s a pretty color, I’ll give it that, and it almost disguises how cold it was during this shoot (…. it was supposed to be a spring shoot after all!) Thanks to Jake for being my photographer and braving the cold with me.

My jeans are my trusty black legging skimmers from Gap that I wear ALL the time, and my trench coat is from Gap as well.

Finally, this purse is like a girl’s dream!! I love the color blush, and this purse has a bow! At first I thought it was too girly, but it’s really growing on me. This specific one just sold out online but I found a very similar one that’s a really good price (with an even bigger bow!). I’ll link that below with the outfit details!
