Book Update – and Cover Reveal!

It has been a long journey to get to this point. Five years, to be exact.

Five years ago this fall, I began writing my book. I decided then that I WOULD publish it. I didn’t know how, but I knew I wouldn’t stop until I was a published author. I was only twelve years old then, and clearly had no idea what I was doing (or what I was getting myself into, haha). The only promise I had, the only bit of truth I had to cling to, was that God wanted me to write that book, and that if He wanted me to publish it, He would provide the resources I needed to make it happen.

This season of my life has been a crazy one. My schedule is busy, my email inbox is full, and I kind of want a vacation. But life is good, and although I’m overwhelmed by my blessings, that doesn’t change the fact that they are still blessings. It’s not a comfortable feeling for me to give control of my bank account to God, but I have been learning that He will provide you with resources, as long as you are willing to use those resources instead of storing them up.

It still doesn’t feel real that I’m actually PUBLISHING Escape the Woods (yes, the title has changed a few times throughout the process, but this is the final one). But trust me, it’s happening! I’m writing today’s blog post to fill you guys in on where we’re at with the process right now, and when and where it is available to purchase.

The publishing process has been much different than I anticipated. I feel like I’ve had to make more important decisions for myself in the last two months than I have in my entire life. To be honest with you (because that’s what we do here), I don’t really know exactly what I’m doing here, or what I’ve gotten myself into. Haha. I don’t know if every decision I’ve made up until this point regarding my book has been the right one. But what I do know is that I’m learning as I go, enjoying the ride, and looking ahead with great expectation. I know that writing is a part of God’s plan for my life, I know that it’s something I’m passionate about, and I’m praying that I make wise choices as I go. This book feels like the foundation for my career. I’m not saying I know exactly how the rest of my life is going to go, because I don’t think I’m one to determine God’s plan. But I’ve been blessed with a pretty clear vision of what I need to do to achieve the life I desire, and I’m seeing that preparing for that begins now, while I’m young.

As I said, it has been a long road to get to this point, but this is only the beginning!! Escape the Woods is now on pre order, for ebook only, but the paperback will be releasing soon! So if that’s more your thing, you can wait until it comes out, toward the end of the year.

If you are into ebooks, you can preorder mine by clicking on this link here! *Order my book.

And for those of you who don’t follow me over on Instagram, and haven’t seen the finalized cover or description, here they are!!

Danger lurks in Darrenberg forest …

Scarlett Valesteine has lived her life under the protection of stone walls, bodyguards, and her overprotective father. She craves freedom and adventure. But her father insists that, as the daughter of the duke of the wealthy region of Darrenberg, she is too precious to her people to roam freely in the woods. On some days, the forest feels like the only escape from her sheltered, routine life in the castle, as well as a distraction from her broken relationship with her brother, who has been angry and violent ever since the day their mother died. But rumors are spreading about the dangers lurking in Darrenberg Forest – rumors of wild beasts, bands of robbers, and tribes rising up and threatening the region of Darrenberg. It’s no longer the safe place Scarlett once knew it to be.

~~~
Kolton Reinhart desperately wants to be free from his stern father, who wants him to choose a wife. He’s ready to leave his small hometown and begin working to build a life of his own. When he travels to Darrenberg to visit his cousin, his path crosses with Scarlett’s when he saves her from a bear attack. In return, Scarlett’s father offers Kolton a job, and although accepting is dangerous, it could be the opportunity he’s been waiting for.
~~~

When Scarlett leaves the town walls and is kidnapped and held captive in the middle of the forest, not only her life, but the lives of everyone she loves, are in danger. She has no hope of escaping or being rescued – she told no one where she was going. Who will warn the region of Darrenberg, and her family, about the attack that’s coming?

~~~
What do you guys think??? I’m so excited to finally share this story with the world. As you know, it’s been brewing for a long time, and I cannot wait for the release of the first book in my series (;
See you soon!
Let us hold tightly to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise.
-Hebrews 10:23
Love,
Gabriella
