How I’m Staying Fit At Home + How You Can, Too!

I might be getting drive through chai lattes nearly every day, and making lots of gluten free treats, but at least I’m getting my excercise in!!

Here are some ways that I’ve making sure I stay in shape while we’re quarantined. When you work from home, it can be hard to actually put a workout in your schedule. But I kind of consider myself an expert on working out from home, so here is what I’ve leaned in the past years!

If possible, workout in the morning

I don’t love morning workouts, but I know that the longer I sit on the couch working, the less likely I am to get up and start a workout. Getting it done in the morning gives you a jolt of feel-good energy, and you’ll be more likely to get out for a walk at some point during the day. (Working out AND taking a walk in the same day is such a good feeling!)

Speaking of Walking…

Just walk! Like every day. It’s good for your body and your mind, especially right now. It’s good to see neighbors, get some sunshine(remember your SPF!), and listen to some music or a podcast.

Find an online workout class that you actually enjoy

Right now, I really like HIIT training workouts. I also like kickboxing, and any sort of strength training. I know that personally, I don’t really like dance workouts, or low-impact cardio. So I don’t do them, and that’s fine. Find an online workout class that makes you feel strong and energized.

I’m going to link a few of my favorites right here! I think they’re super challenging, but try them out and let me know what you think!

Do some sprints

You can go for a long run if that’s what you’re into, OR if you want that same jolt of energy, you can pick a strip of pavement and do some sprints. Sprint down to one end, then jog back. Then repeat.

Do multiple workouts a day

This is my favorite! Lately, I’ve been trying to do a workout in the morning, and then taking a walk in the afternoon or evening. I feel so tired and relaxed at night after that – it’s amazing. You can do little workouts/runs or walks throughout the day. Just put on your workout clothes when you get dressed in the morning!

Go on a hike, if possible

Hiking is one of my favorite forms of excercise! Now is a great time to get in a nice long hike with your family.

I hope you are all doing well, staying possitive, and healthy! Let me know in the comments if there’s anything I can do here on the blog to make this time easier/happier for you!

Love,

Gabriella
