Book #2 Update | And Some Inspo Behind The Story!

This week has felt really sureal. I am publishing my second book. What??

It doesn’t feel real at all – but this week consisted of going back and forth via email with my publishing company, finalizing my synopsis, and even designing my book cover. My second book in my “Scarlett” series is scheduled to launch within the next couple of months (will update y’all when the date is finalized) and I’m literally SO FREAKING EXCITED. This story; these characters – I cannot believe I get the opportunity to share it with you all and the rest of the world.

I was writing in my journal this week and I didn’t know what exactly to say to express how I was feeling. So, I basically just wrote… I’m so proud of myself.

How often do we say that and not feel guilty about it? I am proud of myself for writing and publishing two books. I think it’s important to fully enjoy that feeling of success when it comes, and to allow ourselves to be proud of ourselves. Otherwise, we’ll be stuck in that never-ending cycle of never being satisfied by our achievements.

Okay, now for some info on book #2!

I am so excited to share the TITLE as well as the back of book SYNOPSIS with you guys! *This has not been 100% finalized so there could be slight changes once it’s printed on the actual book.

Betrayal In The Woods

A handsome new suitor. A secret. A loyal baron’s son. Betrayal. New dangers are concealed in the woods … far worse than she imagined.

Darrenberg is safe again, so Scarlett’s father proposes a suitor. Despite her complicated feelings for Kolton, the young man who works for her father, Scarlett accepts the suitor’s offer of courtship. When the rich, handsome lord arrives from Ireland, Scarlett is surprised to discover his sense of adventure matches her own. He is outspoken, brave, and spontaneous. Scarlett feels alive when she’s with him.

Kolton Reinhart has hardly spoken a word to the girl he loves in months. He works long hours for the duke – a respectable job, but torturous when every day he has to witness Scarlett’s new courtship.

When a band of savages hold Scarlett’s friend hostage in the woods, she runs after him, determined to rescue him. But the mission turns out to be more dangerous than she thought. Scarlett finds herself held captive by an abusive outlaw threatening to force her to become his mistress. The duke is away on business, so Kolton knows he must be the one to rescue her, even if that means rebelling against his mandate and risking his life.

Just as Scarlett believes she is safe, and that her future is secured, the unimaginable is revealed. Lies are uncovered. Family betrays family. Darrenberg and its people have fallen into a trap. Scarlett thought she knew who could be trusted, but soon realizes she was terribly mistaken.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?!

Okay, a little back story for those who are interested…

I began writing this book right after I turned 14. So by the time it’s published, it will have been four years!

This book takes place exactly one year after the first book ends. It has most of the same characters, but a few new ones, too (; I would say this plot is much more complex, with more action and more romance. (I have a strong feeling Betrayal in the Woods will be my favorite of all 3 books in the series!)

Love,

Gabriella
