How To Wear Leopard Print

I don’t want to say that I’m obsessed with leopard print . . . but I don’t think it would necessarily be a lie. I wear it on a regular basis. I have leopard print shoes, a leopard print belt, a leopard print wallet . . . basically, all the things! It’s gotten to the point now where my guy friends tease me every time they see me wearing it, and they like to tell me how obsessed I am (don’t worry, they know who they are).

If you have been following for a few months, you might remember that l did a post in September about how I was slowly starting to like this whole leopard print trend. Now, I don’t just like it. It’s my thing. And let me tell you – I’m fully embracing it!

That being said, today I’m going to show you a couple outfits I’ve put together to style leopard print, and share my tips on styling it. Maybe you’re reading this post because you’ve seen the trend going around and want to try it, but weren’t sure just how to pull it off. First of all, let me say that if you like a certain trend, you should embrace it and not care what other people say. And the leopard print trend is seriously so fun, and I think anyone can pull it off! I love that it can be dressed up or down, and that it can be worn to work, or to a party. It all depends on how you style it. Also, it looks like the trend is continuing on into spring, so we can enjoy it a while longer!

This post was so fun to create for you guys, so here we go!

Tip 1 – Pair It With Black.

My favorite way to wear leopard print is probably with an otherwise all black outfit. I think that’s a classy way to wear a somewhat crazy pattern. Here, I paired these pants with a black pullover and nice shoes, but there are so many variations of this. A leopard belt with black jeans and a black top is another favorite of mine. Or, leopard shoes with an all black outfit.

Tip 2 – Keep It Simple

Don’t wear leopard print with lots of bold colors, but stick to the basics. Here is a dressy outfit, and I style the leopard dress with simple basics – a denim jacket and beige ankle boots.

I think what I’m trying to say is this: The leopard print item you choose (in this case a dress) is going to be the main focus of your outfit. It’s just such a bold print, so it’s going to call attention. And you don’t want other prints or bold colors fighting for that attention. That would make your outfit overwhelming.

Tip 3 – Have fun with it

Honestly, if you’re going to wear leopard, you need to fully embrace it, girl! Having the confidence to wear whatever you want to wear, or cut your hair however you want it cut, or wear the red lipstick you love, is what fashion and styling outfits is all about. No matter what print you choose to wear, make sure you’re having fun styling it and putting together your outfits.

If you aren’t having fun, it might be time for a style update. Whatever your personal style is, you should get excited about picking out your outfit each day.

As always, if you’re interested in any of the pieces I’m wearing, feel free to leave a comment, or message me on Instagram (@gabriellacatherineauthor) and I will be happy to get you a link!

Love,

Gabriella
