Goodbye February

What do you do when you eat ice cream late on a Friday night because you forgot that you had a photo shoot the next morning? Wear a swing dress to the shoot . . . duh.

This black dress from Old Navy is so flattering and comfy at the same time. Sometimes swing dresses can be too much for my frame, but not this one. It also comes in  several other colors, and I have the striped one as well.

One thing that I love about this dress is that the possibilities are endless. I’ve worn it with converse sneakers, heels, boots, a scarf, a necklace, a belt, a denim jacket . . . It’s kind of up to your imagination.

Honestly, I’m so ready for winter to be over. This has been such a long season for me. True, winter in New England is always long. But this winter has been especially dragged out.

Last night I stood in the shower after a long, busy day full of appointments and school work I needed to get done. I had argued with my brother. I was feeling sore and exhausted from my workout. I had no more patience.

I kept on thinking about how long this winter had been. December felt like four months instead of one. January had felt longer. February was long, but by the end I finally started to feel a bit more peaceful. It was like I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. The warmer weather at the end of a long, cold winter. Finally, I’m not coming down with a cold every other week. The sun is starting to shine a lot more. And although I’m aware that we still could have a few more snowstorms during March and April, the temps have been hovering around 45 degrees the past week, and I won’t complain about that. In fact, this morning I opened my window for a bit while I was getting ready! How crazy is that?

I feel like spring will be a good fresh start. Already I feel less stressed and more on track. So I’ll admit that I didn’t have a great start to 2018 . . . but who says it’s too late to start now? Winter is coming to an end (it may not feel like it, but it is, I promise!) and spring and summer are on their way. Just gotta hold up a little longer.
