Living Life to the Fullest | What does that Mean?

Determined, passionate, and hard working. Those are all things I strive to be.

I don’t plan to live a “normal” life, nor do I believe that’s the life God has planned for me. I plan to live a life full of passion and determination and hard work. I strive to serve others through my talents, my time, and my wisdom from past experiences. I plan to spend my time on things that matter, and accomplish many things in the years to come.

I like to surround myself with people that are energetic and excited about life, because that’s the kind of person I strive to be. I strive to be a person who is welcoming and friendly, who can make anyone feel loved, at home, and accepted. I strive to see potential in everyone, and to never doubt the ways God can use people.

I strive to live my life to the fullest. I know, I say that a lot on this blog. People often ask me what exactly that means. For me, it’s a lifestyle. It’s how I live; how I treat others; how I spend my time and energy. Obviously, I’m not perfect at it yet. That’s why I say I’m striving toward this way of life.

I believe in working hard and praying harder for the things you want.

I believe in embracing every opportunity to bless, serve, and love on others.

I believe in chasing after your dreams until you achieve them.

I believe that if it’s God’s plan for you to succeed, it WILL happen – in His timing.

I believe in doing “hard things” as a young person – I believe that one of the best ways to grow and mature as a teenager is to accomplish things on your own.

I believe that if your dreams don’t scare you, you’re not dreaming big enough.

I believe in using your gifts, talents, and passions to bring glory to something higher than yourself.

I believe in learning from mistakes and the hardest of times, but not letting those experiences define you.

I believe that through God, all things are possible.

I believe in allowing the people that speak into your life be the kinds of people that challenge you in your faith, and encourage you to get outside of your comfort zone.

I believe in treating others how you want to be treated.

I believe in living every day like it’s your last, and making the most of your time here on earth.

To me, that is living life to the fullest. It’s how we live our lives, everyday, and how we interact with others. It’s the feeling of accomplishment you get after hiking a mountain. Or the feeling of exhaustion at the end of a good workout. It’s the joy you feel when you have a good conversation over coffee with a friend. The comfort you feel when you hold a baby or hug a loved one. The freedom of speaking your mind and letting someone know how you feel. The sympathy you feel while crying with someone after they share the hard details of their life with you. And it’s getting into bed after a full day, and thanking God for all He’s blessed you with.

Being happy and fulfilled doesn’t always mean being comfortable. For me, being happy is about challenging myself to go the extra mile and stand up to fear. Being happy is doing the seemingly impossible, even if it’s hard, and knowing afterward that it was all worth it.

That’s what it means to me to really live.

Love,

Gabriella
