I’m over here loving summer! I love how much time I have for writing, blogging, taking walks and running, and seeing friends. And I love that I can stay up a bit later and not have to worry about school in the morning. And, not to mention, I’m really excited about summer fashion – long dresses, tank tops, sandals, and cute bathing suits. I never want summer to end!
But summer always comes and goes so quickly! I’m trying to soak it up and enjoy it, because I know that fall will be here before I know it. So I’ve put together a list of some things I’ve been doing to make certain I’m making the most of this summer. I think the trick is to be very intentional about how you spend your time.
So here it is, my list of fun ways to live summer to the fullest!
- Walks after dinner – with a friend, a sibling, or a dog.
- Lots of trips to local ice cream stands.
- Early morning hikes.
- S’mores so messy they get in your hair.
- Iced chai lattes!
- Picnics in grassy fields by the water.
- Morning devotionals outside.
- Drive-in movies.
- Long dresses!
- Reread old books that bring back memories.
- Watch the sun set at the beach.
- Do something thrilling – go tubing, water skiing, jump off a bridge or rock into a lake.
- Find a good rope swing.
- Late night movies with popcorn.
- Clear skin for minimal make-up.
- Hammock naps.
- Good waterproof mascara.
- Go kayaking or canoeing.
- Make lots of plans with friends.
I really love this list! It makes me so happy. I really do wish it would be summer all year long, but I know that when the red fall leaves start coming out, I’ll be thankful for that season as well. That’s one thing I really like about New England. I live in a part of the country where I get to experience all four seasons. Summer isn’t dreadfully hot, fall is beautiful, winter is intense but we’re guaranteed a white Christmas, and spring is like a breath of relief after all the snow.
What is your favorite thing about summer? Let me know in the comments!
Happy summer!
Love,
Gabriella
