Where My Confidence Comes From

Hello, friends! How was everyone’s Thanksgiving? I was in Maine visiting family and it was a great time. (:

Today, I want to talk about confidence. Not really body-confidence (although I do have a post about that here), but more of the confidence that reminds us of who we are. The confidence that frees us to step out of our comfort zones, to take a risk, and to chase after the dreams God has placed inside us.

When God calls us to do big things, we immediately start doubting ourselves. We think we aren’t strong enough, not old enough, not financially stable enough. We often question whether we heard God correctly or not, because what He’s called us to do seems impossible.

But when we start doubting ourselves in that way, we are really doubting God. You see, if you have God living inside you, then the things that were once impossible for you are now possible. You’re no longer living by your own strength, but you have His strength, and His strength never grows weary. It’s new each day.

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

-Romans 8:11

Why should we ever feel insecure if we have the God of Miracles LIVING INSIDE US? If nothing is too hard for Him, nothing is too hard for you, either.

Of course, on our own we’re weak. But we can have confidence knowing who lives inside us.

You, dear children, belong to God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

-1 John 4:4

God’s promises never fail. He will finish whatever work He has begun in you. You can have confidence knowing that if you simply trust Him, He will take care of the rest. He will give you His undying strength so you can face any difficulty along the way to achieving the dream He has called you to.

Have a wonderful week! Thanks for reading!

Love,

Gabriella
